missing you

Missing you
Crowded room , I’m on my own
Too many parties leave me wishing you were home
You went away with a promise
You would return
Lonley days and lonley nights
Lonley weeks and years
Baby won’t you please come home
I’m missing you
Another girl when you’re not there
Dark skinned lady with perfect beauty
Flowers in her hair
She’s the girl in the room that everyone desires
Lovely lady of exquisite beauty eyes like smouldering fire
All tis counts for nothing
Baby I’m missing you
If I could see your face again
Feel your arms around me then
I could spent another week or more
Just missing you
The parties over, that’s another day
Empty bottles , lipstick glasses
A smoky cigarette haze
Friends have gone they helped me
While away some time
I could make through tomorrow
If I’m sure that your still mine
Baby won’t you please come home
I’m missing you
If I could see your face again
Feel your arms around me then
I could spent another week or more
Just missing you

foolish ways

Foolish ways
I just saw the photographs brought it home to me
If I’d have just stayed around
How different my life could have been
Never told I loved her enough
I just thought she’d know
But deep inside me I knew
That she would go
It’s up to you Tracey
To forgive my foolish ways
Maybe get the opportunity
To make it up to you some way
It’s up to you Tracey
To find a place for me
Forgive my foolish ways ,Tracey
I was young and foolish then, inexperienced
She was but a young girl full of innocence
Although I loved her I sent her away
Hoping she’d find that life was kind
It didn’t have to be my way
It’s up to you Tracey
To forgive my foolish ways
Maybe get the opportunity
To make it up to you some way
It’s up to you Tracey
To find a place for me
Forgive my foolish ways ,Tracey
Many times I’ve called out, many times I’ve cried
Many times I’ve wished that she was by my side
She always gave so much but I couldn’t receive
And although I’ve regretted it since I let her leave
It’s up to you Tracey
To forgive my foolish ways
Maybe get the opportunity
To make it up to you some way
It’s up to you Tracey
To find a place for me
Forgive my foolish ways ,Tracey
I know it’s been hard on you but you have to know
That the beauty that’s inside of her was allowed to grow
So when I look at the photographs I can see
That the beauty that’s inside of her is with you Tracey

call me call girl

Call me call girl
She looks for something all sexy and tight
Could be black ,maybe it’s white
She knows she’s got to look right
When her lover comes to visit her at midnight
She climbs the carpet on the stairs
Flicks through the wardrobe for something to wear
She wonders if he really cares
If the people stop and stare at them
When they climb in the back of a black limousine
The breathing get heavy ,they begin to steam up the windows
Can’t see where the’re going
He moves his hand because he hasn’t got long
She pushes him away but he’s much to strong
The driver ignores the back seat driving
They arrive at a restaurant all shiny and new
She knows exactly what to do
Moves over to the table for two
While the band plays a moody blues song
The waiter arrives on his silent feet
His shirt is starched, his suit is neat
Asks them what they’d like to eat
They move to the rhythm of the beat
He knows
That the wine is working ,he’s feeling brave
Anyway his ego has to be saved
Because he blew it on the way there
He moves his hand, she doesn’t mind
He thinks he’ll make her, maybe this time
But she stands there and laughs in his face
They agree on a price that is much too high
He feels relieved so he loosens his tie
Take an elevator to the sky
Pushes the key in the eye
of the lock on his hotel room
He’s feeling dizzy ,he’s in a spin
Draws the blind and the room goes dim
He can’t make her he drank too much gin
She lies on the bed and laughs at him
He’s a failure
He had one hour left, then he fell asleep
Said that she was nasty and cheap
But she’d cost him well over a hundred
She smiles to think how they’d met
Lies back and steals one more of his cigarettes
He’s a big shot from a small town

Keep it with mine
Treasure this I’ll give you the other part when I return
Please don’t follow me ,you may learn
Dreams find hollows just to rest their weary head
Peace is the property of the dead
Is it enough you say I can assure you it’s all there is
And if there’s more ma’be you’ll have it for a kiss
It may take more than that, it may take your heart
Are you really sure you want the other part
Take every day as it comes
The sun may rain the clouds may shine
Give me your part, I won’t take your heart
I’ll keep it with mine
I’ll keep my part on your terms I really have no choice
And when it’s time for me to leave I know you’ll have a change of voice
It will last as long as the cigarette you missed
While I’m loving you don’t forget to kiss
Take every day as it comes
The sun may rain the clouds may shine
Give me your part, I won’t take your heart
I’ll keep it with mine
If I start to wander take your time to bring me home
I will follow you through the trees and over stepping stones
Find the track of broken twigs, finally reach the start
To the place where I keep the other part

wot alot of fussin

Wot a lot of fussin
Jet black raven eyes fix steely stare on condemned men
Talons sink deep, tender nerves scream
Far away a bell tolls ,calls out the roll
To mark the hour when justice cries out for her reward
Golden strands of light weave twisted webs to bind the hands
Of dangerous boys while men in robs paint morality
To which lesser beings adhere and disciples fear
No objections are heard in case of damnation
Wot a lot of fussin
What about your cousins back in Africa
Heavens cry, binded hessian grows taught and sharp
Severing shallow flesh, eyes bulge and limbs limp
Silent feet shuffle by ,take heed of swinging feet
Up above wine flows in celebration of lessons learnt
Confused children cannot comprehend the empty chair
The unsoiled boots that lay beneath the blackened hearth
Toiled by wrinkled women, tired of child, starch white pride
No more to cross the road of degradation
Wot a lot of fussin
What about your cousins back in Africa
Present squalor in pale shadow of depravity
That courts time ,sleeps with death, drinks the blood of life
In dark taverns frequented by tragic souls seeking peaceful sleep
Ten mouths, nineteen eyes seek satisfaction at dawn
Creaking scaffold of virgin wood, deafening whispers
Murmured by gathered clans, assembled by fear
Who beats the dry funeral drum, treads heavily on conscious minds
To serve to remind those without vision, beware of seeking sight
Wot a lot of fussin
What about your cousins back in Africa
Dancing mists lay low, mimicking embers of unseasoned wood
Awaiting the appointed hour with the expectation of a young bride
Hesitating the arrival of her drunken demanding groom
Daylight breaks through to register her disapproval of squalid deeds
Secret man attired in hangman's hood to ply his trade
Excited dogs, fearful cats, children do not play
Stool kicked from beneath, sinew stretch like poultry feet
Gallows shake but small twigs survive the tempest storm
Wot a lot of fussin
What about your cousins back in Africa

winter lake

Winter lake
The winter lake will soon be gone
The soil will dry, I will soon be moving on
You may cry
The floods subside, the sun will rise
I will see the sadness that lies within your eyes
I may cry, I may cry
We’ve worked well, collected wood
You know I’d stay if I could
But the sun is high
You may cry
You’ll walk the lake when grasses grow
I’ll sow the seed, you will know
For the corn will dry
You may sigh, you may cry
Don’t you worry baby
Have no fear
The sun will sleep
The skies will weep
Winter lake reappears
When harvest time is nearly done
Hazy days are on the run
Birds southward fly
You may cry
The sun is low when winter calls
I’ll return when sweet rain falls
From darkened skies
You may cry and wonder why
Don’t you worry baby
Have no fear
The sun will sleep
The skies will weep
Winter lake reappears
